Afghans on the Balkan Route: From transit to trauma

Here is a report from my recent trip to Serbia and the Balkans (in German, but with many audios in English and Persian/Pashtu): after the ever more autotharian regime of Hungarian border forces tighten their grip on migrants from neighboring Serbia, many thousand young and growingly desperate persons are left traumatized, alone or with their families on the other side. While Serbia was for a long time considered a transit country - and the Belgrade authorities still stick to this narrative - reality shows that most of the 8.000 or more refugees currently living in Serbia will have to face a reality of staying and necessary integration in a country they do not wish to stay. The full report with audios and photography can be found here.
